On this page you will find all the filters for your Ionways Athena water ionizer. The Athena water ionizer uses two filters. Please read our filter installations suggestion to get some insight on which filters to buy. These filters give you the ability of filtering the maximum contaminants from your water.
Athena Sediment Filter: This filter is used in the Athena only. It is the filter in position #1 in your Athena (it goes inside the left filter housing door). It is a fiber filter that removes particulate. In water treatment all sediment filters have ratings expressed as either nominal (typical pore size) or absolute (all pores size at or smaller than). With 1 micron absolute filtration this new and improved sediment filter is capable of filtering out contaminants up to 5 times smaller than that of the original filter. The filter life indicator on the Athena will still continue to monitor the life of the filter and should be replaced when the digital display reads 9999, after approximately 500 gallons have run through the filter. A modified filter stand is included with your order to replace the filter cup in use in Athena models sold prior to August 2009. Available in U.S. and Canada (5 BV).
Athena Biostone Plus

The Biostone filter has become available once again. It was considered
one of the best filters in the water ionizer business. The Biostone Plus filter is made right here in America
providing jobs to your neighbors. The Biostone Plus treats
chlorinated as well as chloramines. It now looks a little different from
the Biostone Plus we carried in the past, but it is up to the task of

Filter:
This Biostone filter is simmilar to the original 1 micron biostone
filters that came with Jupiter water ionizers such as the MicroLite, the
Melody, Orion, Aquarius etc. This is a really great filter for the
price. It is being made available again due to the recognized need for
economical choices for filters. Some customers actually stop using their
water ionizers because their situation changed and they can no longer
afford the replacement filters.
Athena UltraWater
Filter:
The UltraWater filter is the highest grade filter you can
use in your Athena, Delphi, Melody, or Venus water ionizers. It is
considered a step above the Biostone Ultra Fine .01 micron filter.
The UltraWater filter maximizes the filtration
of the bad stuff from tap water while leaving the healthy stuff in
it. This has always been the challenge for manufacturers of alkaline
water ionizers. Alkaviva has raised the bar on the water filtration
industry with 99.9% reduction of an exhaustive list of the toughest to

Athena UltraWater
Fluoride/Arsenic Sheild Filter:
Fluoride and Arsenic in
drinking water is a growing concern for many customers
who own the Athena Alkaline Water Ionizer and the great
news is that AlkaViva has created a solution, the
UltraWater Fluoride-Arsenic Shield. By using the newest
cutting edge techniques, AlkaViva has created the first
internal ionizer filter to reduce Fluoride and Arsenic
to non-detectable levels in laboratory testing. For more

Filter Installation Suggestion:
The Athena water ionizer uses two replacement filters. Typically for customers not concerned about fluoride in their water (people who have wells) can install the Athena Basic Sediment Filter as filter #1, and either the Athena Biostone filter or the Athena UltraWater Filter as filter #2. Alternatively if you are concerned about fluoride in your tap water, you can install the Athena UltraWater Fluoride/Arsenic Filter as filter #1, and either the Athena Biostone filter or the Athena UltraWater filter as filter #2.
